Rescue my broken Pressed Powder

I had a booboo this morning. I accidentally dropped my favorite VMV So Clear Pressed Powder from my make up table. Huhu! Because I was already in a hurry to go to work this morning, I just ignored the damage and place it back to my make up kit. As expected, it got messy so upon reaching home I googled and found an easy remedy to rescue my broken powder. Just really simple steps which I read from another Filipina blogger named Aya.

Here's a visual illustration on how to do it.

It's so easy! All you need is an isopropyl alcohol, a pair of toothpick, and a plastic spoon. In 3 minutes, I was able to put together the broken particles of my pressed powder. You can also do this trick with broken eyeshadows, blushes, other powder form make up, and to compress eye pigments.

 Hope this helps. :)

What's Inside My Make Up Kit?

Before I started my own blog, I love love browsing through different posts on make up kits of other people just to have an idea on the basic make up stuff and tools to bring whenever I'm on the go.

After working for almost 3 years in field sales, I just came to realize that it is essential to put make up everyday. It boosts your confidence and gives you a certain aura that can help you engage more with your client/account.

So here are the things that are usually inside my make up kit from my dad.

1. The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer
2. The Balm Mary-lou Manizer Highlighter
3. VMV Eye Shadow Two True Hues in Berries & Cream
4. VMV Skin Bloom Blush in Bellini
5. Make up Brushes from Suesh, Landmark, and Elf Cosmetics
6. Cuccio Papaya and Guava Body Butter
7. Ilog Maria Lip Balm
8. VMV Lipstick in Copa - my summer favorite :)
9. VMV Skin-the-Bluff Corrector Concealer in N1
10. VMV So Clear Oil-Absorbing Pressed Powder in Croquette
11. Maybelline's The HyperCurl Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara
12. Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist
13. In2it Waterproof Eyebrow Colour ER 01 eyebrowns

These are my favorites but there are times that I interchange them with some products that are not present in this post. I shall do an individual review of these. I just wanna share to you the things that are inside my make up kit for this post.

Impulse Buy: Very YSL Palette

On our flight back to Manila from Bangkok, I was seated comfortably and browsing through the in-flight Duty Free of Thai Airways, I stumbled upon this cutie and very chic, Very YSL Palette. I wanted to turn my back away from it but I felt that it is a good steal for US$54 so I called the flight attendant and requested for a stock. I failed to resist the temptation and immediately swiped my card. TADAH! Here comes my palette!

It comes with 4 shades of eye shadows in Violet, Taupe, Parme, and Rose, 2 lip glosses in Pink, and a very light shimmering pink blush plus a very basic blush brush, eye shadow sponge, and lip brush.

What I like?
  • The chic packaging that reminds me of the old school flip mobile phone in pink color is irresistable.
  • The size is travel friendly and I feel that it is good enough for quick touch ups.
  • Pink lip glosses - this is the first time that I purchased a pink lip color and surprisingly, my workmates said that it looked good on me.
  • Eye shadows - limited colors but can create an instant day and night look
What I don't like?
  • This is my first non-VMV make up purchase for quite some time now. I'm just surprised that this product is not actually odorless. Not really sure why. Do other YSL make up smell like this?
  • The blush seems to be more of a highlighter to me rather than a blush. I'm not contented with the color so I need to put another blush on my cheeks whenever I use this.

Overall, this is a good buy for those ladies who are looking for a travel palette.
